Yesterday, I told you about the largest recycled lantern marking the revelries of the mid-autumn festival season in Singapore. The same seems to come about again. However, this time, the venue is slightly shifted towards the west. It is the Shanghai World Expo 2010 in China and here, you will see a blend of palm oil and plastic going into the fabrication of a 3,000-square-meter pavilion mimicking a traditional Malaysian Hut.
Malaysian Tourism Minister Ng Yen Yen revealed “One Malaysia — City Harmonious Living” to be the motif of the celebrations highlighting 47 ethnic groups and their way of life. Apart from the usual partying and indoor golfing, the fair/expo will inspire upcoming events to go green.
Once the expo is over, the material will be recycled and will deck some other exhibitions or fairs.
