Panasonic Toughbook UMPC: Rugged for the tough terrain, laptops included
Desh | Mar 6 2008

Putting forward its very latest product, Panasonic announces a rugged UMPC at CeBit exhibition, 2008 in Germany under the Toughbook line which is remarkably shock, water and dust proof. This UMPC is exclusively intended for those travelers and others who need a weather-resistant device and is relatively smaller than today’s Toughbook portables. It runs XP or Vista on Intel’s Menlow platform on its 5.6-inch LCD widescreen posing a serious threat to some full-sized laptops hurling shame on them for sure. It has a hardy QWERTY keyboard below the screen giving it altogether a trendy look. It’s interesting to notice that the numerical keypad is given in the middle of the QWERTY. On either side of the screen, a chain of other controls border it. This ultra mobile features an Atom CPU which implies that even the most advanced applications are sure to sprint slickly without least of the hindrances. The UMPC weighs around 1 kg (2.2 pounds) with strengthened casing. At the moment, you need to bear with us as no information regarding the price is available. So, in today’s rapidly changing world the laptops are surely fast going to become the tales of past, ain’t it?
